Microsoft: office 2019 is only accessible for windows 10!
The new extended software of Microsoft 2019 is said to only align with the new devices supporting Windows 10 leaving the older version of Windows aside. Microsoft has confirmed about releasing the newer version of Office 365 package in the second half of this year. The said software is supportive and is available for Windows 10 SAC release, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2018 and the next LTSC release of Windows server.
Additionally, the new Office 2019 will reduce extended support period despite offering 5 years of main stream support with a definitive period ending on 14th October 2025. The Office 2019 offers an added solution, efficient manageability solutions with more comprehensive security approaches. In the upcoming Office package Microsoft excludes “Microsoft Installer” distribution method where the users must install application “click to run” product.
When talking about the usage of outdated version of Microsoft, General Manager for Windows, Bernardo Caldas said, “Modern software not only provides new features to help people do their best work, but also new, more efficient manageability solutions and more comprehensive approaches to security. Software that is more than a decade old, and hasn’t benefited from this innovation, is difficult to secure and inherently less productive. As the pace of change accelerates, it has become imperative to move our software to a more modern cadence.”
